Frequently Asked Questions

What is your turnaround time for album processing?    Our typical completion time is 3-4 business days(Monday-Friday excluding holidays) for most albums.  If you've requested imprinting for your album, this may add 1-2 business days depending upon our volume.  The only exception to this is the Art Leather albums, which are designed by hand to your specifications, and require a 3-4 week turnaround time.   You can track your order through its process when logged into your account, and you will receive a tracking e-mail when your album is shipped and delivered.   Any delays will be promptly communicated to you by customer service.

What is the difference between a "professional" wedding album, and an everyday album that I would find at a retail store?  "Professional" wedding albums are available via professional photographers and distributors only. Some examples of these brands include Renaissance, Art Leather, and Flora.  Professional grade albums are made of either leather or high quality durapelle which are designed to last a lifetime.  Most professional albums use designer mats in their pages, and can accept a variety of photo sizes, as opposed to one photo size throughout.  This provides you the flexibility to design your album anyway you like by selecting your mats; making your album unique.   Additionally, professional albums offer customized imprinting .  You can choose from standard titles and phrases, or come up with your own.  You can also have your names and date imprinted on the album as well for that extra special touch.   Your wedding is a once in a lifetime event, and when choosing an album for it, be sure to select the very best.

Is there a guarantee on album quality?  Renaissance, Flora, and Art Leather all offer a lifetime guarantee against quality defects in craftsmanship. Each company will repair or replace your album should this situation arise. These albums are all designed to last a lifetime given proper care(storing the album flat when not is use, not allowing individuals with soiled hands to handle the albums, keeping food and drink away from the album, etc).

What do the terms "pages" and "inserts" mean in an album?   Inserts is the number of leaves in an album.  Pages refers to the sides of each insert, i.e. each insert equals two pages.  When selecting an album, keep in mind that a 24 page album will have 12 inserts with 24 sides, and will need 24 mats to complete it.

What should I use to affix my photos into my album?   Slip-in style albums require nothing more than sliding your photo into the page.   For regular albums such as Renaissance or Flora, we recommend using a non-acidic clear tape.  A non-acidic tape(which can be purchased through your local craft store) will not damage your photos or the album itself.  Place the tape on the back of the mats, and in a position where it will not be seen on the front side where your photos will show. NEVER use any type of glue or similar product as you run the risk of damaging your photos and/or your album.

How do the mats work? How do I choose which mats I want?  Mats are the key item that give your album the flexibility to design it anyway you like.   For each type of album(Renaissance, Flora, and Art Leather), you will see a mats section.  They are separated by photo size for your convenience.  Each mat can be rotated 360 degrees; which means you can turn it upside down or on its side to give you many different options in how you arrange your photos.  Select mats based on the color of your album, and the size photos you have to place in the album.

What is a proof album?   A proof album is a less expensive alternative to the name brand albums.  These albums do not offer the flexibility of mats, but they are very suitable for use if you have a large number of photos of the same size.  they can hold up to three hundred 4x6, 3.5x5, 4x5 or 5x5 images. Most proof albums offer clear pages which allow for viewing on both sides of the page and maximum use of space.  We offer a wide selection of "library style" proof albums that provide both a professional looking cover, and a high capacity of photos.
